I've heard it time and time again, "You are too wise beyond your years," but I never reall believed it until I turned 17.
17 was the year that I realized that everything is coming to an end. I'm going to college, I'm graduating high school, my entire childhood as I knew it was going to be dust in the wind in just a little less than a year. And with that I did what any normal teenager would do... I freaked out. But now I realize that growing up isn't the end of the world, it's actually the beginning of it. If not for my 17 years, I wouldn't have understood that maybe Clinton wasn't the best thing in the world, and maybe I don't HAVE to know what I wanna be right this very moment. I wouldn't have understood that EVERYONE in this world needs help, needs light, needs forgiveness, even those who have caused us the most harm.
I feel like, for me, 17 was a blessing. I learned more than I ever would have at 16 or 13 or maybe even 21. Too bad it took me until the end of it to realize that. But who knows, maybe 18 will be just as enlightening.

Hello!!! So as I am new to this I am very unsure where to start... hmmmm.... I'll just begin with the basics.

Name: Mae Helen Jackson
Origin of Name: Named after grandmother
Age: 17 (but only for another two months)
Music Preference: Anything that sounds good to me
Passion: Theater, human rights, text messaging (lol)
Interesting Tidbits: I am the Youth Liaison for the Lutheran World Federation and quite possibly the youngest, though I could be wrong. I participated in Youth in Mission: Serving Christ in the World last summer and plan on participating in the Young Adult Global Mission program after my undergrad years. I am very excited to be connecting with other young adults through this website and getting to know more people and learning and sharing eachother views. So, with that said I'll just leave it open. If anyone has any questions for or about me be sure to let me know and I will GLADLY get back to you.

God Bless,
Mae Helen
